Florentia: The Winterlicious Experience 2024

2024, Feb 07

Italian Food
Mmmm Italian

Such a nice change from the previous Winterlicious destination of Barnsteiner’s. The Winterlicious event couldn’t end on that sour note so it was time for Florentia.

This time around Italian is on tap and it didn’t disappoint.

I ordered the following:

  • Chef Salad (mixed organic greens with cucumber and tomatoes in a homemade balsamic dressing, vegetarian)
  • Manicotti (baked large pasta tubes stuffed with spinach, ricotta and parmesan cheese, topped with a tomato cream sauce, vegetarian)
  • Tiramisu

My guest ordered:

  • Caprese Salad (field tomatoes topped with fior di latte, fresh basil, and extra virgin olive oil, vegetarian)
  • Veal Marsala (tender veal in a mushroom marsala sauce, served with pasta)
  • Tartufo

The atmosphere was nice with decent lighting and a low noise floor which was nice to experience. The portions were very generous along with the wine selection. The prices cannot be beat with the quality of food that comes out of the kitchen here. They even served some proper Italian fresh bread that seems to be a missing accompaniment in certain restaurants these days.

You will notice when someone orders the fish with a splash of aromatics that will hit you once in awhile.

Add nicely maintained washrooms and an attentive waiter that round out an excellent dining experience.
